Hello, iana here!
I wanted to give you a small update about DungeonHub, our Hytale gamemode, and what we’ve been working on recently.
Current Progress
Yarfora is currently working on most of the player data systems. This includes things like join events, the chat system, and the databank connection, along with other backend features that help everything run smoothly.
I’m currently working on a custom UI creator that will help me build better HUDs and interfaces. It’s very similar to the Roblox UI creator using Lua, basically their system with frames and other rendering tools. I’m creating my own language for this system, and I’m also considering publishing it once it’s finished.
Other Ideas & Playstyles
We’ve also received some of your ideas, which makes me really happy! There’s another way to play DungeonHub coming in the near future after release. It’s called Tower Defense, but it’s not exactly traditional tower defense.
Instead, you’ll build your own base and defend it from monsters that come from every side in waves. You’ll also be able to explore an open-world map, searching for other entities that casually spawn in the world, or special resources you need to upgrade or craft items.
There will be a lot more to this, but I don’t want to reveal too much yet. Some things should stay secret!
Survival Progress (Different Gamemode)
Some side projects I’m working on include an Entity Tag, which is basically an item you can give to an entity so it doesn’t despawn anymore. I’m also working on a way to breed animals, since currently Hytale doesn’t seem to have that feature yet (or I just haven’t figured it out).
On top of that, I’m adding a way to tame animals, mostly wolves, dogs, and other friendly animals. Maybe in the future even hostile enemies, but I’d like to hear your opinion on that first.
A Little Thank You
I also want to thank you all for playing on our server. I know progress is slow, but we’re still learning the Hytale code, and things are going great so far. I also want to apologize for the many crashes at the start, most of it was our fault, but things should be working fine now.
Thank you for all the support so far, and I hope you’ll continue supporting us in the future!
